Job Description:

• Work with test and validation team on integration of communications-based batteries with a variety of system components with particular attention to inverters, charge controls, and third-party software companies
• Work in conjunction with embedded systems engineers on modification to communications protocols as necessary for integration
• Create and follow test protocols with team, driving timelines for product integration and launch to market
• Provide design solutions, update existing integration documentation, and provide comprehensive reports to management on test processes
• Perform gap analyses of any design shortcomings versus technical requirements related to regulatory compliance, manufacturing and safety as needed
• Provide testing and validation analyses, design guidelines, component details and test plans on an ongoing basis for future consideration
• Work closely with technical support team to acquire field feedback and drive design/integration changes into products
• Maintain and update technical documentation, design guidelines, component libraries and test plans on an ongoing basis through resolution
• Identify best practices and design standard via internal and industry-wide networking, continuous learning, and generally staying abreast of industry trends
• Involvement in various regulatory committees and contribute when appropriate in terms of ESS development and codes and standards

Required Qualifications:

• Detailed knowledge of AC and DC Power Systems design and applicable codes and standards
• In-depth knowledge and experience with grid tied inverter standards including UL1741 and IEEE1547
• In-depth knowledge and experience with UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A and other battery standards and fire and building code regulations that affect ESS installations
• Experience developing integrated testing protocols for ESS systems in both low and high voltage applications
• Experience working with Project Manager Tools
• BS EE with a focus on Electrical Power Systems with a strong working experience with ESS
• 5+ years of electrical power system development and design experience
• Working knowledge of inverter/converter/battery technologies
• Experience in planning, managing, and executing complex product development projects in comprehensive, proactive, and holistic fashion
• Detailed understanding of engineering documentation including schematics, drawings, and BOMs
• Excellent organizational skills and an attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly to management teams
• Creative problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Good at English listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Can travel frequently.

Technical Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of power system CAD tools
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet switch/gateways
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with control relay design
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with emergency shut down system design

Job Description:

• Working on systems including but not limited to maintaining the operation, adjustments, repairs, changeovers, lubrication, preventive maintenance
• Uses hand tools, power tools and other instruments for repairs and maintenance of machinery, equipment.

• Involved in the design, development, and execution of functional and regression tests used to measure correctness, adaptability, performance, and overall quality.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and experience with maintaining regression test suites.

• Able to thrive and grow in a multifaceted multi-site fast-paced development environment.
• Exposure to CAD/CAE environments such as: EDA verification tools like DRC, LVS, Parasitic Extraction, EDA full custom layout tools/place and route tools, EDA layout viewers
• Experience with Squish testing infrastructure a plus
• Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and experience with maintaining regression test suites is helpful
• GUI application development in a Linux environment using Tcl/Tk or Qt
• Experience developing or testing products written in an object-oriented language
